What’s included in my Vistar subscription?
Your subscription gives your child unlimited access to everything within their chosen learning pathway, including Missions, Challenges, interactive live lessons and accompanying homework. Children can join lessons live and take part as they happen. If they can’t attend, lessons are available to re-watch from their dashboard.
For around the price of one hour of private tuition per month, your child gets unlimited access to Vistar’s lessons and learning universe.
Can I try Vistar before committing to a longer subscription?
Yes. Our flexible monthly subscription costs £50 per month, allowing you to experience everything Vistar offers without committing to a longer plan. If you decide Vistar is right for your family, our six-month and annual subscriptions offer a lower monthly price. Find out more about our subscriptions.
How much does Vistar cost?
We offer two membership plans:
Academic: £40 per month (paid monthly until 31st August)
Monthly: £50 per month (rolling, cancel at anytime)
Every plan gives your child the same access to Vistar. Choosing an Academic membership simply reduces your monthly cost.
How do I know which 11+ exam my child’s target school uses?
We’ve built a tool to help you identify which entrance exam your child’s target grammar school uses. We have optimised curriculums for each exam board. We always recommend checking the school’s own website too, particularly for the latest information and any specific requirements relating to its admissions process. Which learning pathways does Vistar offer?
We have optimised teaching curriculums for 11+ GL Assessment and FSCE exams. We also offer a Key Stage 2 pathway for children who aren’t necessarily preparing for a grammar school entrance exam, but who want to strengthen their core skills in these subjects and support their learning at school. This pathway currently covers Years 4 and 5, with Year 6 coming soon. Find the right learning pathway for your child.
Are live lessons included in my subscription?
Yes. All live lessons are included at no additional cost. Your child can join weekly lessons relevant to their pathway, interact with the teacher and take part with live quizzes and polls as the lesson happens.
What if my child can’t attend a live lesson?
That’s no problem. Our live lessons are recorded and added to your child’s dashboard, so they can catch up at a time that works for your family. They’ll also have access to the accompanying homework.
Can I see how my child is getting on?
Yes. Parents have their own dashboard, giving you visibility over your child’s learning and progress. Vistar is designed to encourage children to become more independent learners, while giving parents the information they need to stay informed and involved.
Can my child use Vistar independently?
Yes. Vistar has been designed so children can navigate much of their learning independently. Once you’ve set up the account, they can work through Missions and Challenges, attend live lessons, complete homework and revisit previous learning, while parents can keep track of their progress.
Can I use Vistar for more than one child?
Yes. We offer a 50% sibling discount for additional children in your family. Please contact us at contact@vistar-learning.com and we’ll arrange this for you.
Does Vistar replace private tuition?
Vistar gives families a flexible and affordable alternative to traditional weekly tuition. For around the cost of one hour of private tuition per month, your child gets unlimited access to our learning platform, live teaching, lesson replays, Missions, Challenges and accompanying homework.
Some families use Vistar as their main 11+ preparation or Key Stage 2 learning programme, while others use it alongside school or additional tuition.
Who creates Vistar’s lessons and learning content?
Vistar’s lessons and content are created by experienced teachers with extensive knowledge of primary education, Key Stage 2 and 11+ preparation. Our team has spent years developing and refining teaching, questions and resources to help children build their knowledge, skills and confidence.
When can my child start?
Straight away. Once your subscription is active, your child can access their Vistar dashboard and start learning.
What equipment does my child need?
Your child will need an internet-connected device to access Vistar. For the best experience, particularly during live lessons, we recommend using a laptop, desktop computer or tablet with a reliable internet connection.
